Hyderabad: As the weather changed suddenly in Hyderabad on Saturday night with high-speed cool winds, lightning, clash of clouds and rainfall, after a day of sizzling temperature at over 41 degree Celsius, social media users were quick to hold forth on the curious weather pattern of Hyderabad. One message on WhatsApp used a well-known song from the movie 3 Idiots, to mock the city weather. It read, “Give me some sunshine, give me some rain. Come to Hyderabad if you want both.”
Meteorological department officials here said the situation was such because of the presence of both high humidity and high temperatures, which resulted in formation of cumulonimbus clouds that caused heavy and sudden rainfall.
Saturday's weather alsohad a lesson for the city folks in vehicle parking: that, when you get a hint of rain and gale, park vehicles away from trees. Many cars and two-wheelers were damaged in Saturday night's weather. Padmarao Nagar was one place where many vehicles parked below trees were damaged as trees were uprooted.
