KVT educational institutes to be upgraded as university

Kakinada: Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat Ram on Sunday disclosed that Kandukuri educational institutes will soon get upgraded as “university”.

Participating in the 175th birth anniversary celebrations of the great social reformer Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu at Ananda Gardens in Rajamahendravaram, the MP pointed out that Veeresalingam Panthulu fought for uprooting evil traditions in the society.

“In particular, he fought for equal rights for women, opposed child marriages and encouraged widow remarriages,” Bharat Ram underlined.

He pointed to Veeresalingam’s “will” that ordained that unless endowments’ department manages his assets, they can be merged with government. The MP underlined that he would strive hard to achieve Kandukuri aims and objectives.

Hithakarini Samajam assistant commissioner Vijayalakshmi, chairman Kasi Muni Kumari, director U. Raju, Adilakshmi, Saritha Rani, Palika Srinu, Margani Suresh, Nakka Nagesh and others were present on the occasion.
