Chennai: The relatives of the 40-year-old employee of Chennai airport who collapsed during work and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital, staged a protest outside airport police station on Monday morning
The deceased identified as A.Gowri (40) wife of Arul and a resident of Tirisulam was working as contract worker at Chennai international airport. The couple live with two children, sources said.
Police said, Gowri was procuring tokens at airport parking lot on Monday morning when she collapsed. She was immediately taken to a private hospital at the domestic terminal by a co-worker. She was pronounced dead on arrival. A case was registered with the airport police and they concluded that she died of heart attack .
Meanwhile, relatives of Gowri staged a protest outside the airport police station demanding an inquiry into the death .They refused to take the body
A case was registered under section 174 (suspicious death) and the body was sent to Chromepet GH for postmortem. Further probe is on.
