CFB holds freeze mobs, demands citizens manifesto' for Bengaluru

The mob also pointed out the fact that the elections were fast approaching.

Bengaluru: In a bid to remind the major parties in the state that none of them have released a detailed election manifesto stating what would be delivered to the public, activists held freeze mobs in front of their party offices on Sunday.

Organised by Citizens For Bengaluru (CfB), a grassroot people's movement, people from various walks of life gathered in front of the Congress, BJP and JD(S) party offices for a freeze mob holding placards saying “Bengalurige Beku citizen's manifesto.”

The mob also pointed out the fact that the elections were fast approaching.

However, parties were ready to respond soon stating that the same would be published soon after the official announcement of the final candidate list.

Tara Krishnaswamy of CfB said, "While they talk of a Bengaluru manifesto, by not releasing it till the last minute, it is clear that they don't plan to fight this election on issues that matter to the people of the city."

Questioning the delay, Srinivas Alavilli of CfB said that this election would be meaningful if the parties showed 1% interest towards formulating a clear vision for the city and the citizenry, of what they show in candidate selection and ticket distribution.

"CfB released Citizens manifesto months ago and it is disappointing that the political parties with all their organisational strength do not have a manifesto even on April 15th! On what basis do they expect citizens to vote for them?," he asked.
