Bengaluru: Debts drive man to suicide
BENGALURU: A 32-year-old man, Harish Kumar, hanged himself by the Pattanduru Agrahara lake in Whitefield police limits on Friday evening. He had run up huge debts and that is the reason behind his suicide, the police said. Harish, a resident of Hoskote, was working in a salon at Hoskote. He, his wife and their two sons had come to his father’s house in Pattanduru Agrahara near Whitefield on Friday.
He was found hanging from a tree near Pattanduru Agrahara Lake in the evening and passersby alerted the police. “Harish’s younger brother, Arun Kumar, in his complaint has stated that that his brother had contacted him over the phone and said that he had run up huge debts, but was unable to repay. We suspect that could be the reason behind his suicide,” the Whitefield police said.
