Case registered against reality show celebrity Rajith Kumar

Kumar and 78 others were booked for violating the Covid-19 advisory issued by Kerala government

Kochi: Police have registered a case against Rajith Kumar, a TV channel reality show celebrity, and 78 others for violating the Covid-19 advisory. Hundreds of fans including women and children had gathered at Cochin international airport to receive Rajith Kumar who returned from the channel show.

“When the entire world is keeping tight vigil against the global pandemic Covid-19, the performance by a TV channel reality show participant and his fans at Cochin international airport premises is disgraceful for Keralites. Law enforcers can’t turn blind eye to such incidents when all social, political, cultural and religious organisations and institutions are abandoning mass gatherings for the safety of people,” said Ernakulam district collector S Suhas.

Meanwhile, tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran said that stringent action will be taken if such fan shows are conducted anywhere in the state. “The government will deal such irresponsible behaviour with iron hands,” the minister said in his Facebook post.

Earlier, Rajith Kumar, a controversial public speaker, has been expelled from the popular TV channel reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ for physically attacking a female co-contestant.

Rajith was also on the media for his controversial remarks like girls who wear jeans give birth to transgender and autistic babies and girls should not jump as their uterus gets displaced and cannot get pregnant.
