Pollachi sex scam case : The Four-day police custody for Thirunavukarasu

Coimbatore: The CB-CID police raided the house of Thirunavukarasu and seized a laptop and a few memory storing devices and are interrogating his family members. A CB-CID special team led by SP Nisha along with the VO of Makinampatti raided the house of Thirunavukarasu on Thursday evening.

Police refused to reveal particulars about the contents of the memory storing device, cell phones and laptop disk.

An application was submitted at the court by police for taking Thirunavukarasu into custody on Friday. The court, thronged with large numbers of people and police received intelligence reports about the possibility at the court for people to attack Thirunavukarasu.

After several hours delay, CJM Nagaraj through video conferencing granted four days custody and ordered to produce him in the court on March 19. Meanwhile, a group of 500 students belonging to the Coimbatore government arts college staged a human chain protest demanding a fair probe and arrest of the entire group associated with the gang.

The CB-CID police also raided the houses of Sabari Rajan, Satheesh and Vasanth Kumar on Friday. Colleges at Udumalpet and Pollachi declared holidays for the second day running today. Police are patrolling the towns round-the-clock.a
