Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner M. Dana Kishore issued instructions for of stringent action if they do not attend special elections training programme on March 17 and March 18.
Mr Kishore said that special training programme will be held at eight centres in the city where about 10,000 polling officers and assistant polling officers would attend. He clarified that no official will be exempted from poll duties and even though they approach him to relive them on personal and health grounds.
He said that the corporation has made special arrangements for medical emergencies.
and polling staff would be relived only if they obtain certificate from the Medical Board. Mr Kishore said that the corporation would take departmental action in case of failure and also initiate stringent action against the absentees by invoking section 134 of People's Representation Act 1951.
