Defeated TRS leaders in an embarrassing position

Mr Tummala Nageswara Rao will lose his position after Mr K. Upender Reddy joins the TRS.

Kothagudem: Defeated MLAs of the TRS seem uncomfortable about Congress MLAs joining the ruling party.

Although TRS candidates lost in the Assembly elections, they continued to run the show in their respective segments as leaders of the ruling party by leading party cadres and addressing their various concerns by involving the officials, who are not hesitant about hearing their diktat as former legislators of the ruling party.

Former Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao would issue cheques to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a ruling party leader. He would even meet TRS cadres and leaders and inquire about their problems at regular intervals. Mr Koram Kanakaiah of Yellandu extended his support to the party cadres and would even call in police officers and officials to resolve their various issues.

However, with the Congress legislators joining the TRS, they will lose such status, and so, this makes for an embarrassing situation for the leaders. Ms Haripriya Naik will be considered as the ruling party MLA of Yellandu after joining the TRS, and consequently, Mr Koram Kanakaiah will lose his standing. Mr Tummala Nageswara Rao will lose his position after Mr K. Upen-der Reddy joins the TRS.

Ms Naik, Mr Vanama Nageswara Rao and Mr Upender Reddy have already expressed their willingness to sail with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Mr Pidamarthi Ravi, the TRS candidate of Sattupalli and former chairperson of SC Corporation, seems very unhappy. TD MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah has said he will join the TRS. As the ruling party leader in Sattupalli, Mr Ravi is enjoining unofficial status there. He will soon be the poorer for it.
