Pawan Kalyan seeks NRIs cooperation to strengthen Jana Sena

Pawan seeks views of NRIs on drainage system functioning abroad.

Vijayawada: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) expressed their solidarity with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at a meeting held here on Thursday. Around 40 NRIs from the US, Dubai, Singapore and Australia attended the Jana Sena formation day and had a strategy meeting with Mr Kalyan and promised to support the party in AP. Mr Kalyan requested the NRIs to extend their intellectual cooperation to strengthen Jana Sena. “We don’t want to squeeze NRIs for money, we need only intellectual cohesion,” he suggested that they devise ways to support the state.

He said the NRIs were struggling and even finding it difficult to construct a house in their native places as also for medical treatment of their elderly parents. “While we are paying taxes, the government should be performing its responsibilities,” he said. “The present generations want a responsible administration, and we will bring that. The change should be natural and we will bring in a silent revolution,” Mr Kalyan said.

He recounted how NRI Sabbisetty extended his cooperation by talking to Harvard experts in the Uddanam kidney issue and brought them to Srikakulam district. He also mentioned as to how a woman in Kadiri shared her agony over the missing of her daughter who was sent to Gulf through an agent. “I am working on finding out her whereabouts with the help of NRIs,” he said.

The Jana Sena chief said caste-based politics had been on the rise and any party worker, irrespective of position, should be punished. He pointed to the Singapore kind of administration where everybody was equal before law. He added that the entire country suffered because of demonetisation and “it is a known fact that huge currency had been sent to Uttar Pradesh”. Mr Kalyan questioned as to why children in Guntur died of diarrh-oea when underground drainage funds were utilised completely. He has sought the views of NRIs on how the drainage system functioned in countries they resided in and wanted expert opinion.

BJP script behind Pawan’s allegations, says TD

TD reacted seriously to the allegations of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. From ministers to corporation chairman all condemned his allegations. TD started a war of words alleging that Modi was behind Pawan Kalyan allegations. Many satirically commented that Pawan Kalyan is confused about the route he taking. They even condemned the allegations made by Pawan on Nara Lokesh and demanded evidence from him.

TD’s chief whip Palle Raghunath Reddy, in the Assembly on Thursday, said Pawan Kalyan’s statements are instigating conflicts between castes, and asked him if he has seen TD’s manifesto before extending his support and suspected BJP’s ‘script’ behind Jana Sena. Later MLC A. Satish Prabhakar said it was disgusting that Pawan, instead of extending support, is going against TD which is fighting for the protection of state interests. MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad commented that ‘Gabbarsingh’ lost his target and said that Pawan has become B team while YSRC is the A team and also demanded an apology for allegations against to Lokesh.
