KOCHI: CPM Ernakulam district secretariat has failed to finalise the list of candidates for some of the prestigious constituencies for the upcoming Assembly polls even after the third round of talks held on Tuesday.
Final decision on the candidates for Kalamassery and Tripunithura has been postponed to Wednesday after the party leadership failed to reach a consensus. Sakeer Hussain, Dinesh Mani and A. M. Yousuf are the nominees for Kalamassery.
The Ernakulam committee, known for intense feud between VS and Pinarayi factions, has urged the state secretariat to take a final decision on the candidate for Tripunithura. Though the state leadership has asked district committee secretaries not to contest in Assembly polls, the Ernakulam committee had no other nominees than P. Rajeev.
In the preliminary list submitted by the district committee, Mr Rajeev was the only nominee for Tripunithura. A section in the party has demanded that Mr Rajeev should be fielded in Tripunithura.
Meanwhile, the list of candidates nominated for other constituencies include Adv. Sebastian Paul in Thrikkakara, Adv. M. Anil Kumar in Ernakulam, K. J. Maxi for Kochi, S. Sarma in Vypeen, M.J Jacob in Piravom, Shiji Sivaji in Kunnathunadu, Saju Paul in Perumbavoor and B. Salim in Aluva.
