Venugopal Reddy, Vishnu to quit YSRC
Nellore: In a setback to YSRC in Nellore district, party leaders and former legislators Katamreddy Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Vonteru Venugopal Reddy have decided to quit the party during a meeting with their followers at Allur on Friday.
Both the leaders are at loggerheads with Kavali YSRC legislator Ramireddy Pratapkumar Reddy and they have been demanding a party ticket for one of them to contest from Kavali in the ensuing elections.
District and state-level YSRC leaders made several attempts to pacify the two leaders but they were not convinced because the party was insisting that they back the candidature of Pratapkumar Reddy.
The party high command had offered MLC to Vishnuvardhan Reddy if he ensured the victory of Pratapkumar Reddy but the former made it clear that he wanted to enter the fray under any circumstances. “One of us (Vishnuvardhan Reddy or Venugopal Reddy) going to contest as independent and we are ready if any party comes forward to give ticket. Our condition is that the party should protect the interests of both of us” Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy said.
