Pulwama terror attack: SM Krishnaa for a more lethal' policy towards Pakistan

I assure the parents of Guru that their son's sacrifice will not go in vain and India will avenge this barbaric killing,\" he asserted.

Bengaluru: Former External Affairs Minister, S. M. Krishnaa on Friday strongly condemned the terror attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama , Jammu and Kashmir, which left 44 jawans dead and stressed that India's policy towards Pakistan needed to have more muscle.

Calling for repeated military blows on Pakistan's strategic and commercial interests, he said it would be naive to believe that one surgical strike would discipline it. In a press statement, Mr Krishnaa said although the September 2016 surgical strike by Indian army commandos should have made Pakistan realise the futility of fomenting trouble in Jammu and Kashmir, Thursday's attack had proved that it continued to remain incorrigible.

“India's policy towards Pakistan needs to be lethal and have more muscle. It must be spoken to in the language it understands. The surgical strike was one such appropriate language that India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke," he added.

Observing that the imprint of Pakistan's ISI was clearly visible on the latest attack , he urged the Union government to “continue to speak the language of surgical strikes in stronger terms with lethal being its focus and thrust” as Pakistan had not learnt any lesson despite losing all the four wars against India - 1948, 1965, 1971 and 1999 (Kargil).

The former Chief Minister , who left the Congress after a decades’ long association, to join the BJP a few years ago, said is heart went out to all the 44 CRPF jawans killed in the attack, especially 28-year- old Guru, son of Honnaiah, a farmer from K. M. Doddi, in his native Maddur taluk in Mandya district. "Guru has laid down his life at the call of his Motherland. We are all proud of his sacrifice. I assure the parents of Guru that their son's sacrifice will not go in vain and India will avenge this barbaric killing," he asserted.
