Kakinada: 15-day long Kumbhabhisheam starts

Those interested in getting married or having some other desires would see their dreams fulfilled through Yaga or Yagna.

Kakinada: The pond near Goddess Bala Tripura Sundari temple has become the centre for several spiritual activities since February 15 and would continue to be so till February 28.

Priests at the temple will hold Sri Rudra Sathiha Chandi Yaga Maha Kumbhabhisheam for 15 days. The organisers drained the water out of the pond and made all arrangements to conduct the Yaga. More than 60 Ruthwiks are participating and performing on the the occasion.

On Friday, the Mahakumbhabhishekam was launched formally to continue the programme. Organisers of the programme said that several yagnas would be held for the benefit of devotees. They said that the devotees should perform these pujas to successfully deal with opponents and to ensure that they get success in their efforts.

There was also a performing of ‘Suvasini puja; wherein 1,111 women devotees took part. It was done to see that the devotees experience growth and development in their affairs, promotions or political development. The efforts were aimed to also eliminate bad signs in the astrological zodiac that would help prevent accidents and unexpected deaths or health problems.

The organisers arranged spiritual discourses with Myalavarapu Srinivasa Rao and others. They say that all puja material was being supplied free of cost to the devotees who want to participate in the grand scale event.

Temple board chairman Grandhi Narayana Rao (Babji) said there is no connecting the event with the temple. He said that the temple would not allocate any funds for it. However, he said that the organizers sought permission for conducting the event.

Meanwhile, many Vedic pundits are participating in the programme. Social activist Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju said that the pond should not have been drained.. According to sources, the Kakinada Municipal Corporation supplies water to the tank.
