Thiruvanathapuram: The joint survey by Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) and the forest department to ascertain their land at Sabarimala will begin on Monday. The High Court had ordered the survey to solve the disputes between the two on the boundaries. The TDB on Thursday claimed at a press conference that it owns 495.53 acres, including 13 acres it possessed since the time of princely rule.

Apart from this are the 13, 50, 11.2 and 77.2 acres handed over by the government between 1965 and 2005. "A section of forest officials have been opposing development in the centuries-old shrine. We hope the high court ruling will put an end to all controversies," said TDB president A. Padmakumar. Rs 25 lakh for Ockhi victims: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has donated Rs 25.59 lakh to the Ockhi relief fund as the first instalment of the fund it collected from employees.
