TriD to spread its wings across Kerala

The campaign was inaugurated on January 8 by Ports Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally.

Kannur: TriD, an initiative of the Kannur district administration to link the Aadhaar card with the mobile phone and bank account, has led to more than 2,500 customers, especially college students in a span of one month.

The project report on TriD was submitted to IT director Ram Sambashiva Rao by IT mission district project manager Midhun Krishna C.M. in Thiruvananthapuram, with the aim of spreading the campaign across the state. The official announcement was expected in three days, said the district project manager. The campaign was inaugurated on January 8 by Ports Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally.

The project, in the first phase was launched in 10 colleges in Kannur, in the hope that the new generation would imbibe the technology faster, said Collector Mir Mohammed Ali. In the next step, the e-signature as well debit card transactions would be added to the application, he said.

The application enables the customer to retrieve his/her Aadhaar card, by sending an OTP to their mobile number and taking printouts using any computer. In future, it also aims at making payments through debit cards and e-signature.
