Madhya Pradesh: Vyapam scam set to hit 174 more medicos

The CBI has summoned senior officers of DME and Barkhatullah University in connection with admissions in the medical colleges.

Bhopal: Even as the Supreme Court on Monday cancelled degrees of 634 doctors for getting admissions in various medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh by adopting unfair means the fate of 174 more medicos are hanging in balance.

The CBI probing into the Vyapam scam has begun scrutinising their entrance examination records to verify if they too had adopted similar means to clear the Pre-Medical Test of 2012 to gain admission.

CBI sources said three private medical colleges — Chirayu Medical College, People’s Medical College and LNCT Medical College — in the state are under scanner for admitting majority of these students.

Sources said role of former director of medical education of Madhya Pradesh N.M. Srivastav was also being examined in connection with these admissions. The former DME has been questioned in the past one month by CBI in this connection.

The CBI has summoned senior officers of DME and Barkhatullah University in connection with admissions in the medical colleges. Sources said the CBI has received clues that these students have been given admission in management quotas by various medical colleges by adopting unfair means.
