Andhra Pradesh to build flats for judges, babus
Vijayawada: The AP government has decided to build flats for 9,061 government employees, judges, MLCs and MLAs in 139 acres of land in Capital region.
CM N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed the officials to identify a suitable place and construct high quality buildings.
He said the flats should be affordable to employees to clear the loan in easy instalments. He interacted with CRDA officials on the progress of the capital development here on Wednesday.
During the interaction, the CM said the housing complex should be useful for employees who were shifted to Amaravati and those who are going to shift their
families to Amaravati in future.
The officials explained their plan to construct flats in five categories in G plus 8 system. Judges, MLAs, MLCs and IAS officials will come under first category, gazetted officers will come under second and third category, non-gazetted officials in fourth category and Class IV employees in fifth category. They said the flats would be constructed in 2,900 sq ft to 900 sq ft area.
The officials said the Amaravati Development Corporation will take up laying of seven roads and the designs for twin towers were ready. The Chief Minister asked the officials to complete their plans as per the targets. He said youth with innovative ideas should be involved in the development of capital.
Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana, CM special chief secretary Satish Chandra, additional secretary Rajamouli, CRDA secretary Ajay Jain, commissioner Ch. Sridhar, Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) chairperson Lakshmi Parthasarathi, Commissioner of Police Gowtam Sawang and Guntur municipal commissioner Nagalakshmi were present.
