Rs 25 lakh ex gratia for Mustaq Ahmed kin

The government would adopt the Central act for the private nursing home establishment.

Vijayawada: The AP Cabinet has decided to release a Rs 25 lakh ex gratia for family members of Mustaq Ahmed, soldier who died in a natural disaster in Sia-chen recently. The government will also provide employment for one person from the family of the deceased soldier.

The Cabinet meeting, headed by the CM here on Monday, has formally approved the temporary secretariat works at a cost of Rs 3,350 per square feet, which is 10 per cent higher than the normal government rate. The government had origina-lly planned to have the works done at a cost of Rs 180 crore, but the cost has escalated to Rs 201 crore. It has also decided to perform Bhoomi Puja and “works initiation” for the temporary secretariat at 8.23 am on February 17. However, the temporary secretariat works should be completed by June 15 with a condition for payment of penalty if the companies failed to complete the works on time.

The government also reiterated that all offices should be shifted from Hyderabad to Vijayawada by June 15.

Meanwhile, the Cabi-net also accepted the recommendation of the irrigation department to enhance the estimation cost values of irrigation projects. The Cabinet de-cided to cancel the sand mining tenders which quoted a bidding price in excess of '500 per cu-bic metre. The illegal mining and transportation should be stopped by resort to the geotag system.

On the other hand, the Cabinet has taken a decision to modify the Organ Donation Act in the next Assembly Sessions. NTR Health Services scheme would be extended across the state and publicity campaigns conducted on it.

The government would set up an Urban Assessment Management Committee for taking up development works in various cities. The government would adopt the Central act for the private nursing home establishment.
