KOZHIKODE: CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan, who was under treatment at the Pariyaram Medical College hospital as a remand accused in Kathirur Manoj murder case, was shifted to the Kozhikode Medical college hospital (MCH) on Monday. He was brought to the hospital around 7.30 in the evening.
Dr S. M. Asharf, head of the cardiology department at the Pariyaram hospital, appeared in the morning before the CBI officers at the agency’s camp office and informed them that Mr Jayarajan’s health condition was stable.
Meanwhile, the Thalasserry district and sessions court will pronounce its verdict on continuing CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan under CBI custody on February 17 for interrogation in the E. Manoj murder case. In the hearing held on Monday, the Judge V.G Anilkumar had asked Kannur Central Jail Superintendent to present the health details of Jayarajan.
Objecting to the CBI’s plea to get Jayarajan, the CPM leader’s advocate, said that he was already quizzed by the probe agency for six hours continuously at the CBI’s office in Thiruvananthapuram.
