Kakinada: District collector H. Arunkumar said that the government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for bio-fertilizer plants and also horticulture gardens development project in East Godavari district.
He said that a bio-fertiliser lab at a cost of Rs 1 crore would be set up at Agricultural Research Centre at Samalkot and this lab would be constructed with pre-fabricated system.
A model project for rejuvenation of horticultural crops growing in 20,000 hectares at a cost of Rs 1 crore will be launched.
Horticulture Resource Centre at Mummidivaram, five coconut collection and trading centres in Konaseema, 10 green vegetable marts and others will be set up in the district.
The collector instructed the horticulture officials to set up banana ripening centers in Konaseema area and two flour mills in Gangavaram Agency and crab culture projects in Pandi and Pora villages in Konaseema region.
