Wrong survey: KPCC files complaint against CHS
BENGALURU: Taking a strong exception to a pre-poll survey done by CHS Surveys that put the ruling Congress on the backseat in the assembly election scheduled for May, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) approached City Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar on Monday and filed a complaint against the company for conducting a "fake survey" and falsely attributing it to KPCC president Dr. G. Parameshwar.
The complaint has been filed against Deepak Avasthi of CHS Surveys by KPCC vice-president Prof. Radhakrishna, accusing him of misusing the KPCC president's name with an intention to create a rift within the party. The complainant said that the survey, done by the agency whose office doesn't even exist in JP Nagar - the address mentioned in the survey, was trying to malign the party's image and mislead the voters. The agency had posted the survey, 'Survey Report for the month of December 2017', on January 5.
The KPCC urged the police commissioner to take stringent action against the agency for misusing Dr Parmeshwar's name. Earlier, in a statement released to the media, Dr Parameshwar said, "A private agency, CHS, carried out a survey and released it to the media. It claimed that it had conducted the survey as per the directions of KPCC president. We have not commissioned any survey. I express displeasure over the media highlighting the survey report as that of the KPCC. At the time of elections, some vested interests would venture upon such mischief. I request the people of the state not to lend an ear to such survey reports. We will file a complaint with the cyber crime police against those who did this." An NCR has been registered at the Puttenahalli police station.
