Hyderabad: With the government keen to commission the Nagole-Begumpet Metro Rail service by mid-2017, chief secretary S.P. Singh on Sunday surveyed the stretch to identify the gaps in construction work, passenger security measures and feeder services.
At the Uppal Depot, Mr Singh along with senior officials took into account the street level furniture, beautification and footpath works. A ground review of works from Mettuguda to Secunderabad and Parade Ground was also taken up.
A Metro Rail officer said that a footpath would have to be constructed on the stretch from Begumpet to Paradise via Prakashnagar and Rasoolpura. Similar facilities have to be readied on the Miyapur to SR Nagar stretch. HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy said the government was keen on starting the service on this stretch after providing all facilities.
