Telangana State Waqf Board Chief gives Rs 1 crore for Dargah's uplift

The state government has sanctioned Rs 50 crores for the development of the Dargah premises on a total area of 62.01 acres.

Hyderabad: The Chairman of the Telangana State Waqf Board and MLC Mohd Saleem handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to Chief Engineer, Telangana State Police Housing Corporation, Gopal Krishna as a token amount for the comprehensive developmental work at Dargah Hzt Jahangir Peeran Inmulnarva village of RR district.

The state government has sanctioned Rs 50 crores for the development of the Dargah premises on a total area of 62.01 acres.

Mohd Saleem said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to develop the Dargah Jahangir Peeran at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crores when he visited the Dargah in November 2017. The Waqf Board had taken out a survey and chalked out a comprehensive developmental plan. Under this project we have planned to carry out developmental works of the Main Dargah, Masjid, and prayer hall for women, Sama khana, a shopping complex, proper cottages, guest houses, roads, drainage, lighting, parking places, toilets and slaughter house, he added.

Saleem said the Board would review the ongoing construction work of the Anees ul Gurba orphanage, which had slowed down due to the elections and hoped the project, would be completed as per schedule. Contractors would be instructed to expedite the work. It has been found that a few Imams and Mouzans were not getting honorariums of '5,000 and he would ensure earliest clearance.
