PD Act invoked against West Bengal man

The accused has committed five offences by diverting attention under the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar IPS, issued P.D. Orders against a white collar offender of Afzalgunj police station.

The man was identified as Mohammed Azad alias Chacha alias Dudu Miyan alias Basha Khan alias Azad Chowdhary, 31, a resident of Barkatpura of Kacheguda and a native of Malda town in West Bengal.

He has committed offences of cheating by diverting attention of innocent people in the limits of Hyderabad city Police limits in an organised manner to make easy money and to lead a lavish life, said the Commissioner.

“The accused has committed five offences by diverting attention under the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and he has been creating fear and panic among the general public,” the official said.

The Afzalgunj police arrested Mohammed Azad on September 28 under Section 420 (cheating), 379 (exploitation), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC of and remanded him to judicial custody.

The Preventive Detention Order was executed on him on December 3, and he was lodged in Central Prison, Chanchalguda, Hyderabad.
