BJP leader Amancharla Sankaranarayana passes away
Nellore: Noted charted accountant and BJP leader Amancharla Sankaranarayana, 64 passed away in the arly hours of Friday due to heart attack at Nellore.
His family members rushed him to a corporate hospital on Thursday when he complained of pain in the chest. He breathed his last at around 4.30 am while undergoing treatment. He is survived by a son and a married daughter apart from his wife. Sankaranarayana had contested unsuccessfully for Nellore assembly seat and also for graduate’s constit-uency pertaining to Nellore, Chittoor and Prakasam districts in the past. Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu expressed shock over the demise of his childhood friend Sankaranarayana.
He was instrumental in freeing the famous V.R. College from the clutches of private management by approaching the Supreme Court on behalf of old students of the institution.
The apex court gave green signal for the old students to manage the college after forming an elected body. His death came at a time when the enrolment of voters (from former students of the College) to elect the new management has just been completed.
In a statement, he expressed grief over his passing away and consoled the family members of the deceased.
AP ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and P. Narayana, BJP senior leaders K. Anjaneya Reddy and P. Surendra Reddy rushed to Sankaranarayana’s home at Brindavanam in Nellore after coming to know about his demise and consoled the family members.
