Telangana: 13 held for attending rave party

The police rescued three women, who were forced to dance semi-naked.

Hyderabad: Thirteen persons, including businessmen from the Old City and two students, who were participating in a mujra dance party at a farmhouse in Shamshabad, were arrested by the Cyberabad police on Thursday. The police rescued three women, who were forced to dance semi-naked. The police has warned farmhouse owners against conducting rave parties on the eve of New Year.

The arrested were identified as Mohammad Rahman, Mohammad Abdul Parvez, Mohammad Mukramuddin, Syed Burhan, Syed Naser Pasha, Mohammad Zubairuddin, Sohail Shah Khan, Mohammad Kareemuddin, Mohammad Shahbaz Ali, Mohammad Imran, Syed Asghar Ahmed, Salman and Aslam.

According to the police, the suspects hail from Vattepally and Jahanuma in the Falaknuma area. Wednesday being Parvez’s birthday, he had planned a party on Tuesday night at a farmhouse owned by his friend’s uncle in Shamshabad.

Parvez contacted Rehman and asked him to arrange for girls to dance during the party. Three girls from the city were roped in. “While the party was going on, the participants forced the women to dance half-naked. However, when the girls resisted, the men harassed them physically and molested them,” said Mr Ashok Kumar Goud, ACP, Shamshabad.

The girls managed to escape from the farmhouse and boarded an auto rickshaw home. But the suspects followed the vehicle, intercepted it and assaulted the driver. An official from the Pahadishareef police station noticed them and came to the rescue of the auto driver and the women. All the suspects were arrested and sent to remand on Thursday.
