Nellore: Sources in the municipal corporation attributed the differences between mayor and commissioner to some issues related the site earmarked for Shaadi Manzil as well as encroachment removal drive. Telugu Desam leaders suspect that the commissioner is not caring them as minister P. Narayana is dealing with him directly bypassing them. When contacted, mayor Abdul Aziz justified his stance against commissioner reminding that they are people representatives and they are committed protect the interests of the people.
“I told the commissioner that all of us are working for the welfare of the poor people and we should show alternative site before going ahead with demolition drive. We are ready to differ with anyone irrespective of their position whether they are officers or political leaders if injustice is done to the people who elected us,” Aziz asserted. Meanwhile sources close to minister for municipal administration urban development P. Narayana said that he spoke to commissioner separately and asked him to sort out differences with city mayor and NUDA chief.
