CM Pinarayi Vijayan to attend ICAI golden jubilee fest

The valedictory function of the golden jubilee inaugural will be held at 4pm on December 16.

KOCHI: The golden jubilee of Ernakulam branch of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India will be celebrated on Friday and Saturday. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will attend the celebrations on Saturday. The valedictory function of the golden jubilee inaugural will be held at 4pm on December 16. It will be attended by 1,000 people. The public function will be preceded by a panel discussion on GST from 2 pm wherein CA experts will answer queries on GST from public for free.

Mr Vijayan will inaugurate the celebration in the presence of Prof. K.V. Thomas, MP, and Nilesh S. Vikamsey, president of ICAI. Vijay Kumar Gupta, chairman, CPE Committee of ICAI, Babu Abraham Kallivayalil, central council member of ICAI, and Jomon K. George, member SIRC of ICAI, would offer felicitation. Senior members would be honoured. Several charity initiatives will be launched including cancer care and blood donation. From about 100 members on 1967, the Ernakulam branch has grown into one with more than 2300 members and more than 8000 CA students. It is the first branch in India to have its own building.
