Plea in Madras HC to not collect excess fare for Singam 3
Chennai: A regular cinemagoer has approached the Madras high court to direct the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TNFEA) and Chennai Cinema Theatres Owners Association (CCTOA) not to collect excess entrance fare for the Tamil film Singam 3, starring Surya and Anushka, scheduled to be released on December 23.
According to the petitioner, being a resident of Chennai, he regularly visits cinema theatres in the city along with his family to watch movies. Every time during the release of new films, Rules set out by the government were being violated.
During the release of new cinemas, starring popular stars, a higher rate was being charged for first five days. Thereafter the rates were reduced but still above the rates prescribed. Therefore, he had filed a petition to direct the authorities to prevent the cinema threatre owners from selling tickets more than the price fixed by the government.
