CPM lashes out at Telangana CM

KCR told to change his feudal attitude to avoid public anger.

ADILABAD: CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabadram on Wednesday told the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to change his feudal attitude otherwise people of Telangana will revolt against his government.

Mr Veerabadram was highly critical of the Chief Minister for wasting public money on his personal beliefs while thousands of farmers were in distress.

Mr Veerabadram, former MLA Julakanti Rangareddy and senior leader John Wesley, Nagesh, Rama, Naitham Raju, Shoban Naik Ashaiah, Ramana, Abbas and others led the Mahajana padayatra which entered Adilabad town on its 59th day.

Nine leaders of the CPM and its frontal organisations have been participating in the Mahajana Padayatra since it was launched in Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy district on October17.

Addressing a public meeting at Ambedkar Chowk, Mr Veerabadram said the Chief Minister was duping the public with false promises. His failure in implementing the Dalit Basti and 2BHK schemes were the best examples of this.

He appealed to the people to question the government over what Telangana state has brought for them after its formation and how social justice has taken a back seat in the new Telangana.

Mr Veerabadram said the Left parties had a history and they fought against feudal forces during the Telangana armed struggle, but the new generation doesn’t know the history and contribution of the Left parties in Telangana.

MLA Julakanti Rangareddy alleged that the state government has failed to implement the SC and ST sub-plan and the Rs 10,000 crores allotted in the budget for the sub- plan has been diverted for other work instead of welfare and development of the SCs and STs in Telangana.

He criticised the state government’s apathy towards farmers and anganwadi and ASHA workers and other contract workers, whose services were not regularised as promised by the TRS and its then president Mr Rao.

Telangana Rythu Ikya Karyacharana Committee district chairman, Daratla Kistu, and members Prabhakar Reddy, Lanka Raghavulu, Bandi Dattatri, Lokari Poshetti, Kumra Laxman, Sugyam Vittal and V. Narayana met Mr Veerabadram and submitted a representation on farmers' issues.
