Andhra University gets A++ NAAC accreditation

Visakhapatnam: National Assessment and Accreditation and Council (NAAC) has graded Andhra University A++.

AU vice chancellor P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy has given the credit for getting the highest accreditation status to all of university’s stakeholders, supporting staff and students. This ranking will be effective till November 8, 2030.

“The 98-year-old Andhra University has not only received top accreditation from NAAC, it also secured the highest cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.74 in the country on a four-point scale. Very few universities in the country have such recognition," the vice chancellor underlined at a press conference here on Tuesday.

He explained that the current accreditation status has been granted based on seven critical parameters. It makes Andhra University eligible to apply for the Institution of Eminence status.

The vice chancellor said the accreditations will enable AU to open its campuses outside the country. This will attract more international students to pursue their study with an institute of eminence.

AU registrar James Stephen and OSD Krishnamohan were present at the media briefing.
