Modi is non-resident PM, says MK Stalin
Chennai: DMK president M. K. Stalin launched a broadside against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also remarked that the AIADMK government is continuing in power gratis the BJP-led government at the Centre.
The DMK leader who chose to target the PM after solemnising the marriage of the party worker here on Wednesday said “Modi does not like socialism, democracy and secularism. His thoughts are about (industrialists) Adani and Ambani. We have heard about a non-resident Indian, but Modi is the non-resident Prime Minis-ter.” He would have not bothered about Modi’s “84 foreign trips” had they “fetched results and brought honour for the nation.”
Training his guns on the ruling AIADMK, he said the government was surviving in power due to Centre’s support.
“People want this government to go. .. there are agitations across the country against both the governments. From farmers, workers, government employees, nutritious meal workers to teachers; are all against the government,” he said.
Mr. Stalin also claimed that there was a move to close down about 1,100 firecrackers manufacturing units in the State.
Claiming that the present crisis in all sectors indicate that ‘time has come’ for a change of guard, Mr. Stalin said he would not be surprised if the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections are held simultaneously.
“The time has come to end all such things,” he said and urged the DMK cadres to work for the party’s victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha election and for the by-polls to 20 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
