Hyderabad: Traffic woes to end at 25 locations

He asked the nodal agencies to immediately address the dust issue and resolve it in three days.

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner M. Dana Kishore and Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar held a review meeting on Wednesday and asked officials to provide immediate traffic solution at 25 locations in the IT corridors.

The GHMC commissioner and the Cyberabad police commissioner stressed that the solution should be provided in three days as the peak hour traffic has reached an all-time high after the inauguration of the flyover at Mindspace junction.

All city departments including GHMC, traffic police, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board were present at the meeting.

They all agreed that the critical bottlenecks occur in three main stretches in the IT corridors — G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science to Gachibowli, Gachibowli to Allwyn Colony, and Cyber Towers to Biodiversity junction.

According to a source who was present at the meeting, 25 critical bottlenecks were identified for which a solution has to be provided within a week. Mr Kishore instructed officials to identify bottlenecks where roads can be widened between five and 15 feet, and all encroachments removed.

He directed that the bus stop near Cyber Pearl, which has been causing major inconvenience to commuters, should be removed. He asked officials to prepare a mid-term and long-term plan to minimise the traffic snarls.

Mr Kishore directed that lane marking at 14 junctions was to be done and instructed traffic police to regularly monitor the roadside parking near eateries.
He asked the nodal agencies to immediately address the dust issue and resolve it in three days.
