Hyderabad: A cabbie from Nacharam was arrested for robbing a female passenger in the middle of the night at Nacharam crossroads about two days ago. The passenger was going home after undergoing dialysis at Care Hospital in Musheerabad, said the police.
A police officer who was part of the investigation said, “The accused cabbie picks and drops techies of two multi-national companies. On Tuesday night he dropped the techies and in return boarded a woman passenger on his way home, and Suvarna also boarded the same cab. He used to drop employees of Google and other MNCs.”
Suvarna’s elder brother Venugopal said Suvarna is single and routinely visits the hospital for dialysis.
“She usually reaches home by cab or calls me to pick her up from the hospital. On the day of the incident, Suvarna found the cabbie waiting for passengers and she boarded as there was another female passenger.
These kinds of incidents create panic among the users of cabs. Today (Wednesday) she is scared to go alone and I have to accompany her.
