NCP leaders to meet CM Pinarayi Vijayan today

NCP state president T. P. Peethambaran Master told DC that party delegation would meet the chief minister and LDF leaders.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state leadership of NCP is buying time till Wednesday morning when they will meet chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and LDF leaders to take a call on his resignation. NCP state president T. P. Peethambaran Master told DC that party delegation would meet the chief minister and LDF leaders on Wednesday morning to convey their views on the issue. “By tomorrow we expect to get the signed copy of the verdict. If there is any adverse order against us, an appropriate stand will be taken in consultation with our national leadership. LDF has already entrusted the chief minister to decide on the issue,” he said.

On the adverse observations of the High Court judge, the NCP leader said the Supreme Court had already made it clear that oral observations could not be considered as part of the verdict. He said as of now, the allegations against Mr Chandy had not been substantiated. Meanwhile, the capital witnessed hectic activities on Tuesday evening with chief minister holding discussions with CPM state secretary and other LDF leaders. NCP central leaders including Praful Patel have told the state leadership to wait for the copy of the court’s verdict.
