Hyderabad: Don't cite paucity of funds, say locals

Muppidi Gopal, a resident of the area, said that the inordinate delay was resulting in project cost shooting up.

Hyderabad: Residents from 15 colonies want the SCB to pursue the culvert project on a priority basis unlike in the past when it was put on the backburner.

Muppidi Gopal, a resident of the area, said that the inordinate delay was resulting in project cost shooting up. “Twenty years ago there was an excellent opportunity for the SCB to complete this bridge. Locals brought the issue to the notice of the authorities, who even prepared the proposals. After the increase in population and number of vehicles plying on internal roads, the authorities are revisiting this project again. Hope the present management takes it up seriously,” he said.

R. Satyanarayana Goud, M. Janardhan and D.Ravi Kumar, all residents of the area, wanted the authorities to construct the culvert and provide relief to residents. “There will be no need to roam around various colonies if this bridge is built. It will be a short cut for residents to reach Begumpet and Bowenpally,” they said.
