AIMIM leader Mohammed Shareef died from multiple organ failure

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Mohammed Shareef, who earlier served as corporator from Erragadda, died on Saturday following multiple organ failure. His wife Shaheen Begum currently represents Erragadda.

K.T. Rama Rao invited to the 21st edition of the India Conference at Harvard University

Hyderabad: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao has been invited to the 21st edition of the India Conference at Harvard University in February next year. The conference will be held in Boston, on the theme ‘India Rising: Business, Economy and Culture’. The event is one of the largest student-run events in the US and attracts over 1,000 members of the Indian diaspora including students, academics, business leaders, and policy experts.

Rama Rao, expressing happiness at the invitation, said that the conference will be a great platform to showcase Telangana’s progressive policies and also highlight the opportunities the state offers in various sectors.

Hyd poll officer cautions election staff

Hyderabad: Hyderabad district electoral officer Ronald Rose on Saturday warned the staff and officials assigned with election duties of stringent action in case of negligence while discharging their duties.

He was speaking at a training program at the Dr MCR HRD Institute on Saturday.

“Election expenditure inspectors should be vigilant. Flying squads and video surveillance teams should be on the lookout for cash,” he said and instructed the officials that the filing of nomination papers by every candidate should be videographed.
