50 per cent women clear constable exam

The number of candidates who qualified in the preliminary written examination is higher compared to the previous exam held in 201516.

Hyderabad: About 49.36 per cent of women candidates who attended the preliminary written test for the posts of Stipendiary Cadet Police Constables (Civil) and equivalent posts, conducted by the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board in 2018 have qualified, said TSLPRB in an official statement on Sunday. The number of candidates who qualified in the preliminary written examination is higher compared to the previous exam held in 2015–16.

Though the number of candidates who appeared for the examination decreased by 43,457 compared to the attendees during the previous recruitment of 4,93,197, the number of qualified persons increased by 36,223.

With the conclusion of the recruitment process of 2018, the attendance was over 93.46 per cent as against the 92.21 per cent recorded during the previous recruitment. This shows an increase in the general preference shown by candidates for employment in the police and allied services in the state, said TSLPRB chairman V. V. Srinivasa Rao.

He said, “About 76,608 women candidates were evaluated after the examination of which 37,817 had qualified. As many as 1,91,048 men qualified out of the 3,73,042 evaluated. Out of the 5,338 ex-service men who attended the examination, 3,565 candidates qualified.”
