TTD neglects the devotees in Tirumala

Pilgrims who walk from TN, rue lack of places to rest.

TIRUPATI: TTD is neglecting the devotees in Tirumala. Heavy flow of devotees was observed in Tirumala on Petrasi month, which is important for the devotees from Tamil Nadu. TTD failed to take measures keeping Saturday in mind and in Petrasi month. The devotees have waited for hours in queue lines to buy a coconut as the coconuts were over very soon. The officials brought them again after over an hour. The devotees are irked with the TTD as there is no other counter in Tirumala that sells coconut. Sale by an individual other than TTD in Tirumala is banned.

So the devotees had to wait for hours as they feel it is a sentiment to offer coconuts to the god. K. Pavani a devotee from Ongole said, "This is a gross neglect of the devotees. They should know how the rush would be. Can't they notice the rush and take necessary steps to avoid these problems? They have to bring the coconuts from Tirupati. I'm waiting in the queue line, while my mom is taking care of my kid."

Devotees coming from Tamil Nadu by walk during this Petrasi month are suffering. These devotees walk to Tirumala from their houses. They have a Mandapam near Nagiri of Chittoor district to take rest. After the stop in Nagiri these devotees will not find any resting point to take rest until they reach Tirumala. It is around 40 Km distance from Nagiri to Tirupati. The devotees have requested that the TTD build resitng points along the way. But no points have been built as yet. K. Selva Rajan a devotee from Tamil Nadu said, "We have not found a place to eat food. A team of 40 members have started walking. TTD should think of Tamil devotees and build resting points for us."
