Mumbai: A newly-wed man allegedly hung himself to death following a domestic dispute — but not before sending his wife a selfie with a noose around his neck.
Parvej Barkatulla Khan (22) a resident of Lily apartment of Evershine Nagar in Nallasopara East, got married two months ago. He used to stay with his wife, his parents and sister.
Members of the locality told the police that the Mr Khan’s wife had moved to her parents’ house, in the vicinity, following a squabble between the couple.
Mr Khan committed suicide on Thursday evening by hanging himself from a ceiling fan with the help of a rope, when his parents were taking a nap, said a police officer requesting anonymity.
But before committing suicide, Khan clicked his selfie and sent it to his wife via WhatsApp. In the selfie, Khan is seen with a noose around his neck. Mr Khan’s father discovered his son’s body when he woke up from his nap and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Doctors said Mr Khan was under the influence of alcohol.
