TIRUCHY: The Tamil Nadu Temple Executive officers association appealed to the State Government to reinstate all the suspended temple executive officers by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) department immediately, by keeping the respective inquiries as pending against them.
The association’s state president G. Sampathkumar told newsmen here on Saturday that a resolution to this effect was adopted at their two-day state executive and general body which concluded today.
He said the meeting also urged the government to upgrade the status of temples, increase the executive officers’ posts and to fill up all the existing vacancies of executive officers and other temple staff by October 15.
The association would otherwise be constrained to organise a statewide agitation, Mr. Sampathkumar added.
