Thrisuur: Padmaja Venugopal, KPCC general secretary and daughter of former chief minister K. Karunakaran, has come out in open strongly against the conspirators behind the ISRO espionage case citing that as many as five active politicians were behind the conspiracy that led to the filing of the false case which ‘ravaged the political life of her father.’
She also said that if given a chance to depose before the judicial commission which would be set up as per the Supreme Court order, she would name all the politicians who were behind the conspiracy to foist the false case that created a storm in the state politics in mid 1990s.
The judicial investigation into the ISRO case ordered by Supreme Court on Friday should not be limited to three police officers and inquiry needs to be conducted into the wider political conspiracy, she added.
Speaking to mediapersons here soon after the SC ordered to pay a compensation of '50 lakh to former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who was found to have been wrongly implicated in the case, Padmaja said that the conspiracy to create the bogus case was not limited into the three police officers alone. “Factional politics in Congress resulted in the ISRO case and the police officers need not be made scapegoats,” she said.
