Bhupati Reddy quits TRS, joins Congress with Bandla Ganesh
Hyderabad: TRS MLC Mr Bhupathi Reddy has joined the Congress along with actor-turned-film-producer Bandla Ganesh in the presence of party president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Saturday. The duo met Mr Gandhi at his residence.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Reddy said, “I have been a founder member of the TRS and worked for the party for about 15 years. But, I am very happy to join the Congress as the people of Telangana have lost their trust on the TRS government. I have joined Congress, as it is the party which made the dream of Telangana state come true. After more than four years of the TRS government, the state has sunk deep into debts, corruption and unemployment.
The government also cheated the minorities, SCs and STs in the name of reservations. The Raithu Bandhu programme taken up by the TRS government is not helping the poor farmers but favouring the landlords. The other reason for leaving the TRS is that the Cabinet is full of persons who were against formation of Telangana during the movement.”
Mr Bandla Ganesh said, “I informed Mr Rahul that I would work for the Congress. I joined the Congress as I like the party. Till date I was occupied with movie business. From now on, I want to do service to the people. This is the reason for joining the party.”
