Sweltering heat not to bring rains: Indian Meteorological Department
Bengaluru: After the torrential rains inundating several parts of the city, Benagaluru is now witnessing sweltering heat with the temperature rising up to 28 degree Celsius. However, the apprehensions among the common people that the rising temperature signals a heavy rain in the offing are wrong.
Sunil M Metri, director, Indian Meteorological Department, Bengaluru said, “We have had two weeks of continuous rainfall which results in change of climate. When the rainfall stops suddenly, the body needs to come in terms with the change of climate.
Metri also added that in October the city will receive North-East rainfall. “The temperatures are normal and it should not be in any way related to the rains the city may experience in the future,” he alluded.
The director told DC , “There is a system developed East of Arabian Sea and Coastal Karnataka which results in the rainfall. Monsoon trough is formed at Lakshadweep and Gujarat resulting in a good rain at Northern and Coastal Karnataka.”
