Hyderabad: Universities in Telangana have failed to make it to the Swachhta Rankings 2017 announced by the ministry of human resources development (MHRD) on Thursday. Around 3,500 institutes participated and 25 institutes were selected in various categories. The only university to feature in the Swachhta award list from TS is the Indian Institute of Technology - Hyderabad (IIT-H). IIT-H bagged a Swachhta award for uplifting villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative. Officials from the Telangana state education board say that they will continue to strive for the ranking next year and will implement cleanliness drives as it was being done this month.
