Hyderabad: Ragging victim dies after suicide attempt
Mancherial: Sai Nidhi, a Class VIII student of a residential school, who attempted suicide died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Sai Nidhi had consumed a chemical in her school laboratory on September 9 unable to bear the harassment of seniors. The condition of another girl who too attempted suicide along with Sai Nidhi and is undergoing treatment in Hyderabad is also critical.
It is learnt that the lungs of both the girls were badly damaged by the chemical and due to the delay in medical treatment. Parents of Sai Nidhi alleged that their daughter died due to negligence in providing treatment.
Two girls studying in Class VIII attempted suicide by consuming a chemical in their laboratory at the residential school for girls in Luxettipet. They were first shifted to a local government hospital and later to the government hospital in Mancherial, and then to Warangal MGM Hospital and to a private clinic in Hanamkonda. Finally they were shifted to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad as their condition turned serious.
It is learnt that senior students of Class IX and X had been harassing the girls since a week and the victims had informed the matter to the principal and their parents.
