RTC to charge for diversion

RTC officials said they would start charging passengers for the additional 12 km.

HYDERABAD: Passengers travelling to Vijayawada and beyond from Hyderabad have to pay more towards bus fare due to the diversion of buses, which commenced on Wednesday.

The buses from Imlibun now take a 12-kilometre diversion to LB Nagar via Salar Jung Museum road, Aramgarh junction and Chandrayangutta.

RTC officials said they would start charging passengers for the additional 12 km. It will not be more than Rs 10 per head, an official said.

Hundreds of passengers who board RTC buses at Dilsukhnagar depot will be affected as the buses bound for Vijayawada and beyond will not touch stop there up to December 2016 due to the ongoing Metro Rail works.

They will have to travel to LB Nagar to board the buses. Buses returning to Hyderabad on the route will also bypass Dilsukhnagar.

Passengers heading to Nalgonda will be also affected. All buses from Nalgonda will stop at Dilsukhnagar depot. Buses to Warangal will take a diversion from Tarnaka to Vidyanagar, Kacheguda and Nimboliadda instead of the route from Ramanthapur to Amberpet and Che Number junction route.
