Gaffe in advertisement leaves Telangana government red-faced
Hyderabad: A gaffe by the state government in its pet schemes rolled out months before elections, Rythu Bima and Kanti Velugu advertisement seems to have gone unnoticed until it was published in the media. The state government’s ad of two different schemes, one which is about Life insurance cover up to Rs 5 lakh for every farmer and another about Eye health care program has two different pictures, but showing the same women and child but different husbands.
The two advertisements that have Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s face on the top followed by a brief on the schemes, has pictures supporting it. However in both the ads, the women in a red- cream saree and a child is the same but different husbands.
The state agency responsible for advertisements and publicity were caught unaware and embarrassed after the advertisements were published in media and criticism followed subsequently. Few even took to the social platform to poke fun at the government ad, Twitter handles @kalpana_dayala said, This is the extent of Telangana government intelligence, two different schemes, different ads, same wife, but different husbands”.
Another @trssriniwas said dear @Adobe, requesting you to please accept the nomination for photoshopping without application of mind from Telangana. When Deccan Chronicle contacted officials with State Information department, they concern authority said the pictures are meant for publicity only. And those clicked are actors.”
