N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurates ACB building in Tirupati

The ACB did not have a single building of its own in state after bifurcation.

TIRUPATI: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who reached Tirupati on Monday to participate in official Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday at Tarakarama Stadium, inaugurated the newly-constructed independent regional office of Anti-Corruption Bureau at Tirupati. The ACB did not have a single building of its own in state after bifurcation and had started construction of offices in the 13 districts and headquarters in Amaravati.

ACB director general R.P. Thakur said that the new building will help the ACB function independly. The Tirupati office has been constructed in 500 sq. yds. with a built-up area of 3,467 sq. ft. at an estimate cost of Rs 104 crore. The office can accommodate DSP, inspectors, staff and a senior official of the joint director cadre. Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements are being made for the I-Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds in Nellore.

District in-charge minister N. Amarnadh Reddy will unfurl the Tricolour. In Prakasam district, in-charge minister P. Narayana will hoist the National Flag at the Police Parade Grounds in Ongole.
